The Neosho Area Community Foundation (NACF) is opening grant requests to area entities.

NACF has funds available for the Neosho area nonprofits, 501 © 3 organizations, schools and school groups, faith-based organizations and governmental entities.

"(We do this) once a year and this is our annual distribution period," NACF president Blake Hierholzer said. "We are going to do it every year."

Eligible organizations or groups can apply for funds to support Neosho area community programs by completing the NACF grant application. Funds for the NACF 2013 grant are limited.

Hierholzer said the deadline for the grant request is by 5 p.m. on Nov. 15.

"We distributed $500 last year to the (Newton County) Food Basket Brigade, but this is actually our first formal distribution," he said.
