  • The Neosho seventh grade girls’ basketball team was defeated by McDonald County Monday night at Anderson Elementary.
    McDonald County won the A game, 28-23, in an aggressive matchup between the squads. Leading scorer for Neosho was Breanna Slavens with eight points, followed by Mailia Hendricks with five, Haven Pennington four, Alexus Hammack three and Madison Flynn two.
    The Lady Wildcats defeated McDonald County in the B game, 17-15. Scoring contributors for Neosho included Jada Twitchell and Pennington with four points each, Hendricks with three and Jansen Gonzalez, Brooklynn Hughes and Gabee Rainwater with two each.
    The lady Wildcats also had a showdown with Webb City on Thursday, falling 38-10 in the A game and 25-18 in the B contest.
    Leading scorer for the Lady Wildcats in the A game was Alexus Hammack with five points. Other scorers included Hughes and Slavens with two and Pennington with one point.
    Rainwater and Hendricks led the Lady Wildcats with five points each in the B game, followed by Madison Flynn with four, Kelsi Bohannon three and Hughes, Pennington, Slavens and Twitchell with two each.
    Meanwhile, Neosho’s eighth grade girls thumped McDonald county 40-4 in the A game and cruised 35-11 in the B game. On Thursday, the Lady Wildcats thumped Webb City 46-22 in the A game before cruising in the B game, 39-19.
