A deer related accident resulted in a minor accident on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Deann L. Hawkins, 44, was driving northbound in her 1990 Ford Ranger on Missouri Highway 59, 2.5 miles south of Diamond, when the vehicle struck a deer. The deer entered the interior of the pickup through the windshield and exited the rear window.

Hawkins was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

She was treated by Newton County Ambulance at the scene for minor injuries.

The vehicle sustained moderate injuries and was towed.
