  • The presidential search committee for Crowder College recently narrowed the field of candidates for the next president of Crowder to seven semi-finalists.
Background and reference checks are currently being conducted and upon completion, the committee will meet once more to determine which candidates will be brought to campus and interviewed by the Board of Trustees.
The committee is headed by Board Chair Andy Wood and has representatives of faculty, staff, administration, Board of Trustees, and the community as well as a student representative. Applications were accepted from August to Oct. 31, with the committee reviewing and evaluating the applications, coming to agreement on the remaining seven.
Once finalists are determined, they will be brought to campus for interviews with the board in January or February. They will also be meeting with various constituent groups and public forums will be held which will be open to everyone. Comments and concerns may be submitted directly to the Board of Trustees during this process. Board representatives may visit candidates' home campuses if they deem it to be necessary before making an offer to any of the candidates.
The board would like to have the process completed and a new president named sometime in March, with a starting date to be worked out with the winning candidate depending on current contract and other considerations, but no later than July 1. Dr. Kent Farnsworth will continue to serve as interim president as needed.
