While the Neosho varsity girls’ basketball team continues to show definite signs of improvement this season, head coach Lance Robbins must be excited about the reinforcements coming through the pipeline.

The Neosho eighth grade girls, coached by Brittany Horn and assistant Matt Hixson, made a major splash this season and certainly grabbed the attention of everyone in the area by going a combined 20-0 with the A and B team, while cruising to the Central Ozark Conference championship with a 29-15 victory over Branson on Saturday.

The Lady Wildcats began the tournament with a 52-12 thrashing of Carthage, whipped Webb City in the semifinals, 40-24, and had little trouble with the Lady Pirates in the title game.

Caitlyn Jordon led Neosho with 13 points against Branson, while Allison Burr and Makayla Hayes contributed five and the trio of Cami Roy, Laken Schnackenberg and Emilee Anderson netted two each.
