  • Neosho woman hurt in crash Thursday morning

  • A Neosho woman suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash that took place early Thursday morning on Missouri Highway 59 in Diamond, while a Joplin man sustained minor ones in the same collision.
    Jennie Vang, 21, was taken by ambulance to Joplin’s Freeman West Hospital for treatment, while Christopher J. Kesinger, 40, of Joplin, sought his own medical treatment.
    The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 6:52 a.m. Thursday as Veng lost control of her  northbound 1999 Acura Integra on the ice covered road, crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2004 Ford E-350 driven by Anthony S. Barnes, 55, of Galena, Kan., nearly head-on. Barnes was not hurt in the crash.
    A patrol report noted that all parties involved were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
