The Seneca Lady Indians returned from holiday break and jumped back into the win column with a 53-42 victory over the St. Mary’s-Colgan Lady Panthers on Tuesday at Seneca High School.
An entertaining first half that remained close ended in Seneca’s favor as the Lady Indians took a 27-26 lead into the half. The Lady Indians turned up the pressure in the third quarter, forced some turnovers and extended the lead.
“That was kind of the ballgame,” Indians coach Darryl Harbaugh said. “We held the ball in check in the fourth quarter and made some good decisions. They hit a few shots and made a run there late, but we hit some free throws down the stretch.
“It was nice to get a win. It was nice for the girls.”
Seneca improved to 5-4 with the win.
Bailey Skelton and Molli Cooper both scored in double figures for the Lady Indians with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Seneca hosts Miami (Okla.) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Seneca also won the B game, 28-17.
