  • Fielding a team without a starter shorter than 6-foot-1, the large and experienced Nixa Eagles got the job done against the young, but up-and-coming Neosho boys squad, 83-46, on Tuesday at Nixa High School.
    The Eagles were consistently good on offense, scoring 22 points in each of the first and third quarters sandwiched around 27 in the second. They led 49-21 at halftime and never looked back.
    Jacob Ruder, who stands in at 6-foot-7, led the Eagles with 20 points, while Logan Middleton added 19, Chris Bettis 13, Chase Allen 10, Wes Middleton nine, Bryce Dulin seven and Garrett Bacon, Dawson Mills and Bracker had two.
    Darrian Guillory paced the Wildcats with 15 points. Caden Hendricks added 11. Lukas Werneke netted seven. Brett Williams and Kaden Roy tallied five. Preston Johnson added three.
    The Wildcats (4-10) entertain Springfield Central at 5 p.m. Friday.
    Nixa also won the B game, 67-42. Devin Hames led the Wildcats with 12 points.
    The Eagles prevailed again in the C game, 60-32. Bryce Murphy paced the Wildcats with 11 points.
