  • The Seneca wrestling team downed Joplin in a dual on Thursday, 48-27.
    Despite trailing 18-0 after three early losses, the Indians got cooking when Curtis Beelart won by forfeit at 120 pounds to get the Indians on the scoreboard. Following a Joplin pin that made it 24-6, the Indians went on a tear as Jesse Rhoades pinned Lashawn Harris (1:09) at 132 pounds, Will Roark pinned Lukas Schmidt (1:13) at 138 and Taylor Cook won by decision over Dakota Mavis (8-7) at 145.
    The Indians continued to get it done in the upper weights and came all the way back to claim the victory. At 160 pounds, Ryker Skelton pinned Gavin Merriman, 1:45. 179, Jordan Bailey pinned Isaac Knewtson, 1:16. 182, Jeff Butler pinned Ishman Wilson, 4:53. 195, Dylan West won by forfeit. 220, Devin Madison won by decision over Jake Cook, 8-3.
