  • The second and final readings of a bill to amend a section of Chapter 405 of the city of Neosho code of ordinances will be read when the city council meets at 7 p.m. today at the council chambers of Neosho City Hall.
Approved on first reading earlier this month, the measure would allow signage near interstate highways to be erected higher than elsewhere in the city. Also in unfinished business, council will hold the final readings of a bill to declare certain personal property as surplus, and setting forth the method of its disposal.
In new business, council will hold the first reading of a bill to amend revenues and expenditures for the current fiscal year for code enforcement. Council will also consider approvals: to submit close out documents for the 2007-PF-24 CDBG grant, which included the demolition of blighted properties in the 200 block of E, Spring St.; of the Harry S Truman Coordinating Council agreement, of the resolution method for opening closed records, for the Global Software annual maintenance, and for expenditure of the hotel/motel tax for the 2nd Annual Roughrider Scholarship Rodeo.
Council will consider two bids for the parks department: for two mowers, and another for a trailer. Two bids for the public works department will also be considered: for a tractor and for an aerator.
Neosho City Council will open the session by proclaiming Quality Petroleum, Inc. as the Employer of the Quarter, when council meets.
