  • WEST SENECA, Okla. — A major check presentation and an announcement of an upcoming fundraiser was announced at Indigo Sky Casino on Monday morning.
“Today, we are celebrating a relationship with Indigo Sky,” said Crystal Webster, executive director of Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO). “This past year, the (event) Swinging for Pink, Indigo Sky helped generate $50,000 to donate to BCFO to future our mission of helping local families get through their struggle with breast cancer. We are truly grateful for this generous support from Indigo Sky and are excited to be announcing the kickoff of this year’s Swinging for Pink.”
This year’s Swinging for Pink will be held on Friday, Aug. 8. The fundraiser will include a golf tournament at a nearby golf course and then later that night, a banquet which will include auctions and dinner.
Speaking on behalf of Indigo Sky and being a part of the sponsorship was Eastern Shawnee Tribe Chief Glenna Wallace.
“Eastern Shawnee Tribe and particularly Indigo Sky always (is) proud to be a sponsor and to be a supporter of the breast cancer events,” said Wallace. “It is an event particularly meaningful to me, I (am) a survivor of breast cancer now for more than 25 years. So it is a message to people that more and more that we do have survivors. The ordeal is never pleasant, but the breast cancer foundation makes it easier for those people who might have financial challenges during this time, who might have other personal difficulties in addition to the medical prices that they are going through. We are so pleased because we know that unfortunately so many women are affected by this and they can be all ages, from the (ages of) 20s up through the 50s, 60s, 70s and their needs are always different, but their needs are needs. We are proud to be a part of this community, sponsoring and supporting such a worthy event. We are pleased on what we did last year and we look forward to doing even better this coming year.”
