Jackie L. Henry, 75, passed away suddenly surrounded by his loved ones at Freeman Hospital early Sunday morning, April 6, 2014.

Jack was born Aug. 20, 1938, in Calhan, Colo., to Cecil and Violet Henry, the seventh of 12 children. He met the love of his life, Donna Jean, on Easter Sunday 1954 and married May 31, 1956.

Jack joined the USAF, as an electrician, stationed at George AFB, Victorville, Calif. Two sons joined the family in 1958 and 1959. Jack became an instructor when the family was transferred to Chanute AFB, Rantoul, Ill., and two more sons joined the family in 1961 and 1962.

Shortly after, stationed at Kadina AFB, Okinawa, the family was finally blessed with a daughter. After 12 years active duty, Jack decided his family needed him more than the military and moved the family back to California. He owned the Green Valley Kennel and worked on and off for the Pacific Railroad. In 1980, Jack moved his family to Missouri and made a living in real estate.

Jack was loved by everyone who knew him and truly was a “Jack of all TRADES.” His smile was the first thing that entered a room!

Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna; sons, Keith (Marcia) state of Florida, Scott (Kim) state of Texas, Joe (Lisa) state of Montana, Troy (Linda), Neosho; and daughter, Kelly (Lewis) state of New Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren were blessed to call him Grandpa! Jack is also survived by two sisters and five brothers.

In honor of Jack’s wishes, a service will not be held. A celebration of life “Open House” will be at the family home from 1-5 p.m. Saturday.
