  • Neosho children are encouraged to grab a basket and take it to Big Spring Park Saturday afternoon to grab some eggs, when the city of Neosho hosts an Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 2 p.m.
Wes Franklin, public relations and events coordinator, said the park will be partitioned into four different sections to allow separate egg hunts for children between the ages of zero to three, four to six, seven to nine, and 10 to 12.
Franklin said the park will be divided geographically, “Just to make it fair for everybody, we don’t want big kids mixed with little small kids and running all over trying to get to Easter eggs.”
He said parents are welcome to chaperone their small children while hunting eggs.
Franklin said at least 1,000 plastic eggs will be hidden throughout the park. Each will contain assorted candies; and he said one lucky egg in each age group will contain a coin, which will entitle the finder to a grand prize of a large Easter basket filled with candy and treats.
Franklin said this is the first time in many years the city has hosted an Easter egg hunt, so they are starting out simple.
“Just keep it down to the basics and we can grow from there,” he said.
