  • After finishing their season with a 39-12 record under first-year head coach John Sisemore, the Crowder Lady ‘Riders softball team is starting to see some postseason honors roll in to recognize them for their accomplishments on the diamond.
Five players, four sophomores and one freshman, earned 1st team All-Region honors following their outstanding performance in leading the team. Those earning the honor were: Payton Appleberry (Republic, Mo.), outfield; Andrea Drake (Columbia, Mo.), infield; Theresa Collins (Broken Arrow, Okla.), catcher; Allison Tonyan (Columbia, Mo.), pitcher; and Brooklynne Simbeck (Grain Valley, Mo.), pitcher. Simbeck is the lone freshman to be honored.
Of those selected, Tonyan and Drake have both already committed to continue their careers at the next level next season, with Tonyan headed to the University of Central Missouri and Drake bound for Williams Baptist College. Two of the sophomores, McDonald County product Joni Hanke and Appleberry will both return to Crowder as volunteer coaches/students in the fall.
