E. Dwain Houck, 72, retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel and retired Lockheed-Martin employee, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, of complications from Multiple Sclerosis.

Col. Houck was the son of the late Elmer T. and Beulah Houck of Neosho.

Service: Private services are planned in Dallas, Texas. Dwain Houck received his MBA and MPA master’s degrees. He was also a member of All Saints Episcopal Church while in Fort Worth and served as Junior Warden on their vestry. He spent two tours of duty in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam era, flying the EB-66 and the F-4 Phantom and was in the electronic warfare field. He received numerous commendations and medals during his military career. Upon retirement from the Air Force, he continued serving his country by bringing his expertise to Lockheed-Martin, where he became heavily involved in the analysis of advanced weapons and strategic and tactical employment of fighter weapons systems for many years until his retirement.

Survivors are his wife of more than 40 years, Dawn Houck; daughter, Holly Cooksey and her husband, Jim Cooksey; son, Darren Houck and his wife, Dr. Stephanie Houck; and three granddaughters, all of Dallas.
