  • In a game that was close the entire way, the Carthage Lady Tigers scored with 12 minutes to go in regulation to break a 1-1 tie and held on to defeat Neosho, 2-1, on Tuesday in Carthage.
    After the Lady Tigers scored an early goal 12 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead, the Lady Wildcats would fight back and tie it up in the second half when Ronni Weber took an assist from Corea Lowery and found the back of the net to make it 1-1.
    Carthage fired 10 shots, five of which were on goal. Neosho finished with six shots, five on goal. Neosho goalkeeper Hailey Neumann saved three shots.
    Neosho travels to Joplin on Thursday for a 5 p.m. showdown against McAuley Catholic. The Lady Wildcats will then get an opportunity to exact revenge on the Lady Tigers at the Class 2, District 12 Tournament with a first round game against the Lady Tigers at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Webb City’s Cardinal Stadium.
