Geraldine ( Jerry) G. Davidson, 88, Stella, died May 26, 2014, at Freeman West Hospital following a short illness.

Jerry was born May 22, 1926, in Joplin, the daughter of Charles C. and Mildred (Eaton) Millard. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Midway in 1944. Jerry was a homemaker. She graduated from Crowder College with an associate’s of arts degree.  Jerry loved to write. Her published works included a novel, poetry, short stories and songs. She was an avid genealogist. “Ma” delighted in her grandchildren and was their biggest cheerleader. She belonged to Jones Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary. Jerry’s passion was children’s ministry and missions.

Jerry married John Bruce Davidson on Jan. 17, 1948, in Monett. After 51 years of marriage, she lost her Bruce on June 12, 1999. Their union was blessed with five children: Jerann, Linda, John, Wendy and Jill. Linda died at age 7.  Jerry married Tony “Gene” Woodrum on March 30, 2003. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2004.  

Jerry is survived by: her sister, Barbara Oxendine; her children  Jerann Deardorff,  John Davidson and wife, Susan, Wendy Linton and husband, Bill, Jill Greer and husband Jan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Jeff Wilson and wife Poppy, Larry Deardorff, Tabetha Meadows and husband Dana, Eric and Ryan Linton, Jared Hopkins, Zachary Greer,Tehya Deardorff, Alisha, Kendra, and Casey Wilson, Cody and Corey Persinger, Isaac, Peyton, and Quinn Meadows; three great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three stepchildren, Joyce Meredith and husband, Harold, Gary Woodrum and wife, Evelyn, and Angela Glunt and husband, Kevin; and four step-grandchildren, Meghan and Michael Woodrum, Joshua and Andrew Glunt; and one step-great-grandchild.  

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho. Interment will follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home (Neosho) from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. today. Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. today.
