Neosho head wrestling coach Jeremy Phillips has again been named Missouri Head Coach of the Year in wrestling, as he grabbed the award from the National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholastic Division (NWCA) for the 2013-14 season.

Backed by what he considers some of the finest assistant coaches in the state, it came as no surprise to Phillips that his understudy, Brett Watkins, also picked up a prestigious award from the (NWCA) — Missouri Assistant Coach of the Year.

The duo teamed with a handful of other fine coaches to help guide the Wildcats to their fourth state championship in five years last season. At a time in which many thought the Wildcats might take a step back after losing some key seniors to graduation, they actually improved and won the title by a historic margin. With the majority of that team returning, the Wildcats are again among the favorites to win the state title next season.
