It’s not a remake or a sequel or a prequel to the “Terminator” films that have come before it. Rather, it’s kind of a reinvention of the first two movies, but with all sorts of new futures and pasts. There will no doubt be “Terminator” purists who insist that this fourth entry in the series breaks the rules of the “Terminator” universe. But it’s hard to know if that’s something they’re going to hate or celebrate. Here are my thoughts: This is top-shelf science fiction. There are no rules.

As a movie, the nearly two hours of gyrating man candy known as “Magic Mike XXL” is awful. Atrocious even.
