As a way to improve their services, Big Spring Pediatrics, Neosho, a pediatric group employed by Freeman Health System, has moved to a new location.

The office, which opened in 1998 as the Children’s Clinic, located at 204 N. Lincoln St., moved to 336 S. Jefferson St. in the Freeman Neosho Physicians Group building (across the street from the Freeman Neosho Hospital).

Big Springs Pediatrics is made up of Drs. Andrew Hamby and Ernest Holmes, along with a new nurse practitioner.

“They were in what I would call a ‘dated clinic’ and we had made the decision to expand some services,” said Kevin Gaudette, director of practice management for Freeman Health System. “We had an opportunity to bring on a nurse practitioner to join both doctors Holmes and Hamby, we needed some existing space and some more functional space to do that. We had the opportunity over in our medical office building at 336 S. Jefferson St. to accommodate the additional space and better workflow, so we chose to move them over to that location.”

The office opened Monday, Feb. 14 and offers a wide range of services.

“They do a full range of pediatric services from well-child checkups all of the way through acute care, they actually admit and do inpatient services as well,” he said.

The office has its own waiting area, parking and is located on the west side of the physicians’ office. Call 451-0778 for appointments. Hours of operation for now are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but will soon change.

“With the addition of the new nurse practitioner, beginning in mid-March, we will expand some hours on Monday evenings and Thursday evenings to 7 p.m.,” Gaudette said.

Gaudette said Freeman Health System is excited about this new location.

“Not only for getting improved and updated space for our physicians, new nurse practitioner and their patients, but it also allows better access for that group of patients for various services within that building, there is onsite lab, there is onsite pharmacy, onsite X-ray,” he said. “So we are extremely excited about the move, and offering at least better access to those services for both the doctors and the patient population.”
