Car show enthusiasts will have the opportunity on Saturday to see numerous cars, trucks and bikes during the 4th annual Bordertown Casino Car, Truck & Bike Show.
The event — which is co-sponsored by Bordertown Casino and Route 66 Corvette Cruisers — will start at 9 a.m. and conclude with an awards presentation at 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Route 66 Corvette Cruisers have also pledged to raise money for a dual cause.
“It is to raise funds for our club, but also we are going to try to raise funds for the victims in the Joplin tornado,” said Rosemary Lehar, with the Corvette club.
For the tornado side of things, the club is matching funds.
“That is what we are going to do for the victims,” she said. “If we get $250 from the people there at the club, we are going to match that with $250 and Bordertown is going to match it with $250, so we will have
$750.”
According to Lehar, the club has already helped some of their members who lost their homes during the tornado.
Carolyn Dorman, also with the Corvette club, stated they would have between 150-200 cars, bikes and trucks at the event.
“We have seen some that have been 1912 on up,” Lehar said. “In fact, one person in our club has a 1912 (vehicle).”
Aside from the vehicles, there will vendors who are selling items including food. Door prizes will be
available, along with music.
Dash plaques for the first 100 entries. For those who are bringing out their vehicles to show, there is a $15 entry fee.
“We would love to see the public come out for this,” Dorman said.
