Neosho falls to Bolivar 26-19 in football season opener

The Neosho football Wildcats opened the season with a 26-19 loss to COC Small Division foe Bolivar Friday night at Plaster Stadium on the campus of Southwest Baptist University.

Neosho led 13-12 in the second half, but Bolivar responded and outscored the Wildcats 14-7 down the stretch.

Neosho junior quarterback Tyler Rathmann completed 6 for 11 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns in his debut under center. He also tossed two interceptions.

The loss comes in Neosho head coach Jared Schoonover's debut as the Wildcats' head coach.
