Last week, I received an interesting phone call in the late evening from the Colorado clan. Tim was giving me the inside scoop on the newest addition to his farm, 40 Redrock laying hens!!!
I was delighted to hear the excitement in his voice as he described the experience of transferring the birds from the truck to their living quarters! After just a few minutes, our conversation was interrupted by the sound of one of the granddaughters whimpering in the background. It was Lula, who had awakened from her sleep and was looking for the comfort of a parent! Tim put her on the line with me with the hope that I could calm her down.
I tried the silly PaPo routine with no success. From my end of the line, it seemed her distress only increased!! This was serious stuff. So, I decided to inquire about her day at school. Even though her voice was still filled with sniffles from crying, I did get a response. In a muffled, barely audible voice she said, “I’m doing a report.” I asked what the report was about and she replied, “Paraguay.” I tried to encourage Lula that she would have an amazing report because she had lived there for several years!!!! At that point, her mother returned and I have no idea how the situation was resolved.
The brief conversation remained on my mind and I pondered Lula’s unique assignment. She was going to have the opportunity to tell her classmates about a place they’ve never visited! Relying on her personal experience and knowledge, Lula would introduce her friends to a land far away, Paraguay!
As Believers, we are given the assignment to tell those around us about our Heavenly Home! Drawing from our trust of the Scriptures and our personal experience with Jesus, we do our best to communicate to folks about this land that is fairer than day! We won’t get a grade but,
Oh, the joy of being reunited with our friends when we reach the other side!!! And all because we were willing to give our report!!!!!!!
God Bless You as you share yours!!
