Neosho, Mo. -

With more spacious accommodations customized to their needs, a local scrapbooking store is moving from the former Room2Room location on the Neosho Square to a new location behind Oak Tree Mart on Oak Ridge Drive.

McKenna Morgan, owner of Stickers-N-Stuff, said the business has outgrown its current location, where they have been for the past four years.

“It will be a lot better,” she said. “We’re customizing it to what we need. The classroom is better, the bathrooms are more accessible, it’s completely wheel-chair accessible. It’s about 3,600-square-feet.”

The move will be complete in mid-February or early March, she said.

Morgan said the company began work on a new building in November, but disaster struck the project in December, as high winds knocked what had been constructed crashing to the ground.

“The issue was fixed and now we’re on our way back up,” she said. “I don’t know what the problem was for sure. I think it was a truss problem with the wind.”

The shop carries “anything and everything to do with scrapbooking,” Morgan said, and offers four to five classes a month for both beginning scrapbookers and advanced alike. Class size is about 15, and classes meet from 6 to 9 p.m. in the evenings.

“We also have classes on the go, things we take to different clubs, MOPS groups, and teach in their locations,” Morgan said. “We have anything you need: Albums, pages, tools, embellishments, stickers. We will be the largest scrapbooking store in the area, but we were the largest before moving.”

Stickers-N-Stuff is open to all, with a number of clients coming in from other states, Morgan said.

“But we have quite a few local folks, too,” she added.

Currently, the business is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

“We plan on expanding our hours when we get settled,” Morgan said, “but we’re not sure of the timeframe. We’re really excited to be doing this, and hope everyone will come out to see us.”

Stickers-N-Stuff holds cropping events twice a year. Croppers gather for activities such as completing scrapbook pages, make-and-takes, blue light specials and more.

But it’s not just for fun, as proceeds go to benefit charities. Recently, Stickers-N-Stuff and their clients donated more than $700 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Helen Garner, a Neosho child who lost her battle to ATRT, a rare form of brain cancer, just a week before her first birthday. Helen’s mother, Nancy Garner, was presented a scrapbook completed by SNS clients in honor of her daughter.

The next charitable crop will be held in March, and Morgan is taking applications for an organization or individual to be honored. If you would like to make a nomination, please call Morgan at 451-4310 before Feb. 15.

Stickers-N-Stuff is a multi-generational family business, with Morgan’s mother, Kristy, helping out in the shop. Her grandmother, Clione Hatfield, operates a teacher’s credit union out of the same building.
