SENECA — It will be a busy Saturday for the city of Seneca, as the annual Celebrating Our Freedom gets under way with a day-long events.

SENECA — It will be a busy Saturday for the city of Seneca, as the annual Celebrating Our Freedom gets under way with a day-long events.
"The main purpose is to bring people back home and have a fun filled family entertainment day," said Mike Steele, president of the Seneca Area Chamber of Commerce.
The event is separated into two parts: activities will be held in the morning around Main Street area and then in the afternoon, it moves to the school farm located north of seneca.

10 a.m. – Celebrating Our Freedom Parade –

Kids games at the Seneca Junior High
4:30 p.m. gates open at Fireworks Site, localted at Hwy. U and Bethel Road. Parking is $5.
6:30 p.m. live entertainment by Stone Horse Band
9:45 p.m.  Fireworks Display
"Our fireworks will last about 20-25 minutes," he said. "Come early to get parking, that field will be full."
One of the highlights during the morning is the parade.
"We will have 2,500 to 3,000 people just for the parade, and fireworks, we usually triples the town of Seneca," he added.
The day gets a lot of people coming in from out of town as well.
"I know that there are several family reunions, class reunion, they wait on this to coordinate it around this event," said Steele. "They want to be here and get together."
