A candlelight celebration on Thursday,  will pay tribute to breast cancer survivors and honor the loved ones who fought hard and lost the battle.
the event - titled Every Candle Has A Name - will start at 7 p.m. at Big Spring Park, Neosho.
"Everyone that attends has the opportunity to light a candle in honor or memory of a loved one from the central candle of hope – if you do not want to light a Candle you are still welcome to come and honor someone in silence," said Donna Hood, who is with Neosho Bosom Buddies Support Group and the American Cancer Society, who sponsors the event. "This is a kick off for October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you or someone you know has Breast Cancer, I think you will find this ceremony uplifting – this will give you an opportunity to pay tribute to your loved one and make connections with others who are also there for the same reason"
Bring a lawn chair for your comfort. The event will also have special music and the names of breast cancer survivors and those who have lost the battle.
