Around 100 cars, trucks and motorcycles turned out for Saturday's  10th annual Route 66 Corvette Cruisers Car Show at Indigo Sky Casino.
"This is a fundraiser for the Peterson Outdoors Ministries Wounded Combat Veterans," said John Dorman, president of the Route 66 Corvette Cruisers club. "(Every year, we pick a group) and this year, one of our members is directly involved with it (Peterson Outdoors Ministries Wounded Combat Veterans)."
The casino's parking lot was filled with the different types of vehicles, some door prizes and music from the day playing. The public had the opportunity to come by and not only check out the vehicles, but also to ask questions to the owners.
Gary Kohler of Joplin was polishing his 1951 Mercury painted with orange and yellow flames.
"I bought it, it came out of Oklahoma, it was just  body, then I started working on it," he said. "It brings back fond memories. I lived in the 50s and 60s, that is what we all drove."
Kohler said there were only three years that this Mercury was made: 1949, 1950 and 1951.
"There is very little difference than grills and taillights is the main thing, basically they are the same body style," he said. "I picked the color orange was jut a color that I liked, I wanted to be different.
I drove them to high school, it wasn't quite as nice, because I didn't have the money, just had to do with what we could, I always wanted to build one so, finally got one done."
Dorman remembers his first time seeing a Corvette.
"When I was in college, I can remember going down to the dealership and drooling. It took me awhile before I had enough money to actually afford it. I love them," he said. "When I was in California, my wife had promised me when we got married and about 25 years later, I finally got my first Corvette. I have had three now. And each one is better than the previous generation. My first one was a 1989 C-4 generation."
At the event of the event, there was an awards ceremony and then the vehicles left heading back to their next car show.
