There is still time to run in this Saturday's 3rd Annual Hope Kitchen Turkey Trot in Neosho.
Cost for the 5K is $25 if registered by Wednesday, Nov. 15 or $30 thereafter. The 1-mile fun run is $15. The fun run will begin at 8 a.m., with the 5K at 8:30 a.m., both starting in front of Hope Kitchen, 219  E. Main St. Packet pick up can be either from 3-6 p.m. Friday at Hope Kitchen or the day of. "We are really excited to host our annual Turkey Trot 5K," Bridges said. "The main purpose of the race is for Hope Kitchen for what we are is a non-profit, we function solely on the funds that we raise and the donations we receive from all of the generous people in our area. we have two fundraisers year, our banquet in April and we have our turkey trot in the fall. We really depend on these fundraisers to help Hope Kitchen be the success that it is."
This year, Bridges said the attendance is going to be great.
"We are very excited, our numbers are great, we have quite a bit more than we had last year registered," she said. "We have 16 sponsors for the 5k this year, which is just amazing. we had 10 sponsors last year. ... we are so thankful for all of the support that we have had in our community."
The race will begin at the kitchen, then go off of the Neosho Square, all the way to Senior Hill, come back and go down Big Spring Hill and finish in front of Hope Kitchen. Participants can check out the race course at www.twelveonegroup.com.
