Filled with an assortment of breakfast casseroles, biscuits and gravy, muffins and other breakfast items, law enforcement officers and deputies were treated to a breakfast on Dec. 14 at the First Lutheran Church, Neosho.
"This is our Law Enforcement Breakfast, hosted by the Newton County Chaplains, the Neosho Police Department Chaplains, the congregation here at the First Lutheran Church and the Neosho Exchange Club," said Bill Doubek, one of the chaplains and also on the Neosho City Council.
The event began at 6 a.m. on that day.
"Every year, we host a law enforcement breakfast to show them our appreciation," he said. "In this current day and age, where there is so much rage against officers and we have lost so many officers in the last year, this is a way to show them that not everybody hates them. We appreciate them, we love them, we keep them in our prayers and we just want them to know it."
Doubek said they enjoy hosting the event, but also the law enforcement officers also enjoy it.
"It is a good time for fellowship," he said.
