The National Weather Service out of Springfield is advising the next weather system will arrive Thursday. With the system's arrival, it is expected the temperatures will fall from the 50's into the 20's, with a potential for freezing rain, sleet, and possibly some snow. The timing to arrive in Southwest Missouri is between noon and 3 p.m.

The National Weather Service out of Springfield is advising the next weather system will arrive Thursday.  With the system’s arrival, it is expected the temperatures will fall from the 50’s into the 20’s, with a potential for freezing rain, sleet, and possibly some snow.  The timing to arrive in Southwest Missouri is between noon and 3 p.m.

 A storm system will track across the region Thursday bringing sharply falling temperatures the potential of wintry precipitation. A light wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and possibly snow with minor accumulations are expected. Ice accumulations of a glaze to less than a tenth of an inch may occur. The higher amounts will generally occur across the eastern Ozarks eastward.

Wind chills in the single digits will return to the region late this week.
