A way to help families in need with food, New Life Fellowship Church, 4022 LaQuesta Dr., Neosho, has opened The Storehouse.
"Basically we have just set it up so that we can give out food donations to families that are in need," said Paula Anderson, with the church. "Each box will contain a minimum of five meals, in that box there will be additional stuff but it will vary from month-to-month to what is available. But definitely at least five meals will be in that box."
Anderson will be at the church from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 14.
"I will be at the church to take applications (or) then there is applications online at www.newlifefellowship.com, then we will call back from those applications and let them know that they have been approved," she said. "Then they will be able to pick up their box of food on July 21, we will also take applications on July 21. The amount of food per those five meals will depend on the size (of the family), we ask for them to bring photo ID, proof of income and proof of address with them."
The box will include ingredients for the following meals: Hamburger Helper, beans and cornbread, chili dogs, spaghetti and Tuna Helper.
"It (food boxes will change on a monthly basis," Anderson said. "There is no cost to the family. You don't have to be a member of this church."
Asked how grateful the church is to provide these food boxes, Anderson said, "we are just honored to step out, reach out to the community that our hearts are part of the mission, and to just show the love of Jesus Christ."
