At 4 a.m. Sunday morning, an officer with the Newton County Sheriff’s Department apprehended a man accused of robbing his hometown convenience store late Sunday night.

A description of Warren and his vehicle was forwarded to Newton County at 1 a.m. Sunday morning, and at 4 a.m. an officer noticed his parked car at Petro truck stop just off I-44 south of Joplin. He waited and soon Warren approached the parked car.
“The guy immediately threw his hands in the air and said, ‘Yeah, it was me,’” said Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland.
