A 911-call prompted a lockdown situation at Granby Elementary School this afternoon.

Police were still at the school at 4 p.m. today, but children and parents were released minutes after the school’s normal parent pick-up time.

“There was a 911-call that was made that said there was a threatening event on campus,” said East Newton R-6 superintendent Tanya Vest. “We’ve got Highway Patrol, we’ve got Newton County Sheriff and we’ve got Granby police and they have found nothing.”

A report from the Daily is in Granby now.
