Accident sends three to hospital

A blowout on a Newton County roadway Saturday afternoon sent three Fayetteville, Ark., residents to the hospital.

Injured in the crash were Henry T. Rosteck, 59, Kathlene W. Rosteck, 57, and Christopher H. Rosteck, 22. All were taken to Joplin’s Freeman West Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 4:25 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 71, a mile south of Joplin. A patrol report said a southbound 1998 Ford truck driven by Henry Rosteck had a tire blow out. The truck then ran off of the roadway and overturned.

All were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, a patrol report noted.
