Neosho man dies in vehicle accident

A 37-year-old Neosho man died in a single car accident five miles outside of Seneca Monday.

Edward Shields was westbound on old Highway 60 when his truck skidded off the right side of the road.
Shields overcorrected, then ran off the left side of the road and overturned, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident call came in at 2:43 p.m. Monday.

His 1993 Ford Ranger was totaled. Newton County Deputy Coroner Lee Ireland pronounced him dead at the scene
