Neosho Soroptimist members are gearing up for a brand new fundraiser on March 13.
“We are going to put on the play, ‘The Change,’ which is based on the play, ‘Menopause,’ the musical,” said Holly Mitchell, treasurer of the local chapter. “The Classy Red Hatters of Cassville will be doing the musical and we are hosting the event. (The play) is a comedy…you will laugh a lot.”
The event will be held at 7 p.m. on March 13 at Elsie Plaster Center on the campus of Crowder College. Tickets are $13 each or two for $25. It is open to the public.
But there is more than just the play.
“We are not only having a play, but we are also having a few little skits,” she said. “We are having a men’s fashion show like you have never seen before. We have some hilarious skits. We will have about 10 vendors, ladies from the area, (such as) jewelry, purses, things like that.”
Prominent businessmen, such as a pharmacist, bankers, will be in the fashion show.
“All of that money goes back to our scholarships for women,” Mitchell said. “And then we reward scholarships every year. We usually have three or four a year.”
The scholarship banquet will be coming up soon.
Tickets are available through Soroptimist members. They can also contact Holly Mitchell at 451-3172 or come by Newton County Title, off of the Neosho Square.
