Neosho Christian Schools are gearing up for the annual “Knight to Remember” benefit banquet set for Saturday, April 18, at the Bob Sneller Gymnasium on the Crowder College campus.
The banquet – which begins at 6 p.m. – will include a silent auction from 6 to 7 p.m., a catered meal by Shoney’s at 7 p.m., and entertainment at 8 p.m.
“It is our main fundraiser,” said Lawrence Sanders, the school’s principal and superintendent. “It is our biggest fundraiser of the year. This benefit banquet, if we reach our goal, will enable us to keep our tuition costs as low as possible for our school families.”
Entertainment will be provided by Mike Bliss, Branson’s Variety Act of the Year, who will perform a fun, family-friendly program, including illusions, juggling, unicycling and more.
Musical entertainment will be performed The Believers, and also students from kindergarten through fourth grade. Eighth grade students and above, including the staff, will serve the meal.
Tickets per table are as follows:
• Corporate/underwriter at $3,000
• Platinum at $2,000
• Gold at $1,000
• Silver at $600
• Individual Silver table $125 each
Note: Tables seat eight people, except for the corporate/underwriter, which seats four with Bliss and / or school officials.
“We will take tickets all the way up to the end,” he said. “We are starting to get them (reservations) in. The last that I looked, we six or seven tables sold, already.”
There are various silent auction items.
“During the silent auction, we have furniture that people donate, we have a La-Z-Boy recliner, we have appliances, we have several trips, tickets to Branson shows, some memorabilia, tools, tool boxes, etc,” Sanders said.
Currently, there are 64 students enrolled, in grades kindergarten through 12th grade.
“Last year, we started with 32 students,” Sanders said. “I suspect next year, we will be up to 100 students. We operate on tuition, we get no state funds, we strictly operate on tuition and donations. Tuition rates for one child is $3,000 and a second child is $1,600, and a third child is $1,000 a year.”
