Woman killed in crash with semi Sunday

A Duenweg woman was killed when she pulled into the path of a semi tractor-trailer at the intersection of Missouri Highway 43 and U.S. 60 Sunday morning.

Connie Pickens, 53, was pronounced dead at approximately 11:15 a.m. by Newton County Assistant Coroner Lee Ireland.

The Seneca Police Department said Pickens was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus south on highway 43 when she pulled into the path of a 2003 Peterbilt tractor trailer driven by Kenneth Mason, 45, of Warsaw, Ohio. The semi was heading west on U.S. 60.

Two passengers in the Pickens vehicle were injured. April Doolittle, 49, of Duenweg, was airlifted to a Joplin hospital for treatment, while Alexandria Faucette, 3, of Gentry, Ark., was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.
