WEB UPDATE: Death toll now 13 according to Newton County Coroner's office

The death toll in Newton County from Saturday night's EF3 tornado is now 13, according to the Newton County Coroner's Office.

Teri Cook, of the Racine area along Highway 86, passed away this afternoon at a local hospital as a result of injuries suffered during the storm.

The names of the deceased from Newton County in the wake of Saturday's tornado have been released by Newton County officials.

They are Rockie Peterson of Neosho; Lynda Hasty, Seneca; Paul Gallemore, Racine area; Daniel, Barbara, Jeff and Terrance Monroe, rural Newton County; Teri Cook, Racine area; Ruby Bilke, Joplin; Christine Petree, Morrisville; Richard, Kathy and Clayton Rountree, all of Joplin.

In a report given to the Daily News, Peterson passed away after suffering injuries sustained when a tree fell on him near his home on Falcon Road.

The four members of the Monroe family were in a mobile home near the Missouri-Oklahoma state line. Two others in the mobile home were injured.

The three members of the Rountree family died while driving to Seneca along Highway 43, as did Ruby Bilke, according to the coroner's office.

Gallemore passed away at his home on W. Highway 86 near Racine.

Petree passed away while driving near Highway 43 and Highway BB (Iris Road).

Hasty passed away after being transported to a local hospital.
