An accident at the Milnot Company in Seneca late Saturday night claimed the life of Larry Poe, a worker at the company.

According to an official with the Seneca Police Department, “Seneca police officers arrived in response to the call. There were two other officers there before they arrived.”

Milnot straddles the Missouri-Oklahoma state line. The accident occurred on the Oklahoma side of the company.

After determining that the accident occurred on the Oklahoma side in Ottawa County, Seneca police officers contacted the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol took over.

Newton County Corner Mark Bridges said he was contacted about 10:25 p.m., but was called back because of the Oklahoma tie.

Calls were made by the Daily News to various branches of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, including Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Washington, D.C., and in Dallas, Texas. No details were available from any of the offices as of press time.

More details will be made available as soon as possible.
