Progress continues at the new Seneca Intermediate School and at the Seneca High School expansion.

INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

Walls, ceiling and floor are complete inside the FEMA shelter portion of the new intermediate school in Seneca. Electrical work is ongoing in the building. Office and kitchen slabs are complete and work continues on a string of classrooms.

Trusses are still going in along the east wing and work will continue over the weekend.

HIGH SCHOOL

The precast walls, minus three sections, are up. The remaining opening will  allow trucks in to pour the concrete slab. Contractors are ready to pour locker room floors, and the mezzanine and stringers are up for the permanent bleachers.

Rain on Thursday delayed concrete work.

“As soon as the weather gets better we’ll be pouring floors in the school gymnasium,” said Seneca Superintendent Rick Cook.

Concrete block construction for the new cafeteria, kitchen and media center will go in soon between the new gymnasium and the existing one.
