Shortly before 9 a.m. today, Neosho and much of Southwest Missouri saw more snow coming in.

The snowstorm only lasted a few minutes, but was expected to return periodically throughout the day.

With that anticipation, Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) crews were out and about clearing the district’s roadways.

“We have been out and about all night, just waiting for it, because we were not for sure, we had anticipated it starting earlier in the overnight hours,” said Lori Marble, a spokeswoman for MoDOT.
“We were looking at the possibility of between 2-4 a.m. We have had crews on all night, small crews.”

Marble noted that the crews are ready with salt and other chemicals and they were treating the roadways.

“The most recent weather is showing that the snow is going to be ending mid morning. Then lingering flurries throughout the day,” Marble said this morning. “ It is still kind of ‘iffy’ on what we can expect Sunday/Monday, widely varying forecast.”
