Neosho, Mo. -

Tickets for the upcoming Taste of Home Cooking School, set for Sept. 23, will go on sale Tuesday.

Tickets will be available at the Neosho Daily News, Mills Park Centre Furniture and Appliance and the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce for $8 each. Please see the Taste of Home Web site, www.tasteofhome.com, and click on Cooking School for complete information and show highlights.

Culinary specialist Martha Schwend will prepare 10 party-pleasing dishes at the Civic Center, the former Neosho Municipal Auditorium. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Sept. 23, and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Recipes include Almond Cream Cheese Bundt, a make-ahead treat that features bite-sized rolls coated with brown sugar and toasted almonds around a rich cream cheese filling.

Another featured recipe is Fragrant Indian Butter Chicken, a healthy rendition of a popular ethnic dish that goes easy on the butter and cream, yet is both colorful and tasty.

Apple, Dried Cherry and Walnut Compote is a quick dessert for today’s time-crunched cook. It’s mixed in a Ziploc Zip ‘n’ Steam bag and “baked” in the same bag in the microwave.

Everyone attending the two-hour demonstration will received a gift bag containing, among other items, the Taste of Home Cooking School Brand Name Cookbook, a 68-page special issue which includes all of the featured recipes and many more, plus coupons from participating national food companies.

For more information on the cooking school, please call the chamber at 451-1925.
