Organizers with the Diamond Gem City Days are gearing up for the 18th annual event, to be held this Friday and Saturday, on the parking lot of the Diamond Christian Church.
The event is co-sponsored by Diamond Improvement Group and the Diamond Lions Club.
“It is a time to get everyone together, see old friends and have fun as a community,” said Vicki Wright, one of the chairmen for the event.
The event starts at 6 p.m. Friday with the opening of the crafts and business vendors, concessions and pie sales by Diamond Improvement Group.
At 6:30 p.m. Friday, an opening ceremony conducted by the Diamond Police Department will be held and there will be recognition of the community leaders. The Diamond Improvement Group picks those, Wright said.
Capping off Friday night will be local entertainer Duke Mason from 7 -9 p.m.
Saturday’s events include everything from a parade to children’s games to food to a Diamond High School reunion, a silent auction and more music.
