A unique fundraiser will be held Saturday to help those with cancer.

Newton County Relay For Life organizers are gearing up for Zumbathon. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., but the event is from 9 a.m. to noon at Crowder College’s Bob Sneller Gymnasium. Admission is $10 to participate, $1 to join the festivities, and participation fee will be waived if they get sponsors. First 50 participants will receive a free T-shirt. T-shirts will also be available for sale.

“It is a benefit for relay for life,” said Dana Eads, chair for the local relay. “The teams will have to meet three criteria and that is how we decide how we split it between the teams, anything that is raised.”

Pre-registration is not needed, participants can show up the day of the event, Eads noted.
