Neosho man hurt when motorcycle strikes dog

A Neosho man sustained moderate injuries when the motorcycle he was riding struck a dog in a Newton County roadway early Tuesday morning.

Joshua R. Berry, 33, was taken by private vehicle to Joplin’s Freeman West Hospital for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash took place at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday on Hammer Road, two miles north of Neosho. A patrol report said a northbound 2004 Honda motorcycle ridden by Berry struck a dog in the roadway.

Berry was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the report noted.
 

Granby woman hurt in Barry Co. crash

A Granby woman sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash that took place at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday on Barry County Route B, a mile west of Purdy.

Erika R. DeMoss, 30, was taken by ambulance to St. John’s Hospital in Cassville for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened as an eastbound 2003 Nissan Pathfinder driven by DeMoss drove off of the right side of the road, overcorrected and ran off of the left side of the road. The vehicle then struck a fence and overturned.

DeMoss was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, a patrol report noted.
