Clayton Smith, 60 passed in Willmar, Minn., July 21, 2017, after a work accident.
Clayton was born July 31, 1956 in Bartlesville, Okla. He has been a resident of the Carthage area for the past 12 years and moved from the Carl Junction area. Clayton owned and operated Smith Masonry and did construction work as well, he was currently employed with Southpaw U.S.A. Inc.
Clayton was united in marriage to Julie Cupp May 15, 1999 in Eureka Springs, Ark., she survives.
Clayton is survived by one daughter Kristie Smith, Rogers, Ark., two step daughters Amanda Allen (Kyle), Webb City, Jessica Irwin (Geratt), Carl Junction, and two step sons Matt Hoffman of the state of Texas and Christopher Hill, Webb City, nine grandchildren Avery Allen, Khloe Allen, Lena Smith, Charlee Heinz, Grady Irwin, Emma Hoffman, Brylee Hill, Layla Hoffman and one on the way, dear friend Kris Heinz, Carthage, two brothers Mike Smith and Craig Smith, three step brothers Tony Schowalter, Jason Callahan and Marcus Callahan, one Uncle Don Smith, and his step mom Joyce Smith, Dewey, Okla.
Clayton was preceded in death by his dad C.R. Smith and mom Nancy (Pyle) George.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday July 27, 2017 at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage. Burial was at the I.O.O.F Cemetery Neosho.
