Ellick Edward Garren was born March 3, 1939 in McDonald County, the son of Lester Alexander Garren, Sr. and Lucile Cole Garren Anderson.

Ellick Edward Garren was born March 3, 1939 in McDonald County, the son of Lester Alexander Garren, Sr. and Lucile Cole Garren Anderson.  
He entered into rest on Aug. 18, 2017 in Carthage, following an extended illness at the age of 78. Ellick was a lifelong area resident and had owned and operated a construction business, ‘Ellick Garren Excavating’ for over 40 years and was a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Neosho Masonic Lodge over 50 years and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of McNatt Baptist Church.  
Ellick and Carlene Louise Martin were married on March 18, 1958 in Miami, Okla., and she survives.  
Additional survivors include four children, Douglas Edward Garren, Joplin, Delene L. McCoy and husband, Greg, Osage, Ark., Duane L. Garren and wife, Micki, Monett and Daric C. Garren and wife, Melissa, Diamond; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Loren Garren,  Goodman and Lester A. Garren, Jr., Stella; one sister, Cloetta Brady, Stella and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Tichenor and Luann Jones.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, Pastor Jim Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery, Stella and his family will honor him serving as pallbearers.
