Jimmy Dee Johnson, 73, Neosho, entered into rest on Dec. 31, 2017 at Freeman Neosho ER, following a sudden illness.  
Jimmy was born Sept. 13, 1944 in Wichita, Kan., the son of Dee Johnson and Lois (Macy) Pritchard.  He was a career military man, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp, retiring as Master Gunnery Sargent.  He moved to Neosho in 1989 from Okinawa, Japan.Jimmy enjoyed watching documentaries of war history and military history; woodworking, working in his yard and helping others.  He was a member of the Church of God.  
Jimmy and Mary Christine Ward were married on Feb. 7, 1964 in Norfolk, Va., and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2016.  
He is survived by four children, Deborah Brown and husband, Jim , Goodman, David Dee Johnson and wife, Shelley, Joplin, Karen Spencer,  Neosho; Chris Spencer, Hereford, Ariz., and Kenneth Johnson and wife, Amy, Neosho; one brother, Lloyd Johnson, Harrison, Ark.; two sisters, Jerry Dody of the state of Oregon and Barbara Sisk, Leon, Kan.; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Donnie Johnson.  
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Eugene Cole will officiate. Interment and military honors will be in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be David Johnson, Kenny Johnson, Chris Spencer, Ron Cole, Trenton Tickell and Jim Brown.  
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
