David R. ‘Hutch’ Hutchings, 79, Neosho, entered into rest on June 1, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital, following an extended illness.  
David was born Aug. 20, 1938 in Neosho, the son of Raymond Orvalee and Martha Dean (Yetter) Hutchings.  
He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1956 and graduated from Tarkio College in 1988 with a bachelor of science degree.  He worked as a plater and Leadman at Rocketdyne, Continental, Teledyne, Saberliner, Premier Turbines, Dallas Air Motive and retired from BBA.  He served in the Nation Guard for forty years.  David enjoyed fishing, photography, ham radio, gardening, four wheeling jeeps, and being in Colorado, but most of all enjoyed being with his grandchildren and family.  He was a member and former elder of the Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ.  
David and Wilma (Morrison) were married on Feb. 18, 1967 at Lone Star Church of Christ in Granby and she survives.  Additional survivors include two daughters, Deidra Atkin and husband, Richard, Atlanta, Ga.; Debra ‘Debbie’ Hoyt and husband, Yancey, Neosho; four grandchildren, Chelsea Dill and husband, Austin, Derek Plumier, Lauren Atkin and Tim Atkin; one great grandson, Kade Speak; one brother, Robert Hutchings, Port Angeles, Wash., and one sister, Deanna Kessinger, Kansas City, Mo.  
He was preceded in death by his parents.  
Funeral services will be held on Wed., June 6, 2018 at 1 pm at the Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ, Jim Murray and Denny Kruse will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Hazel Green Cemetery and nephews, Russell Hutchings, Greg Hutchings, Keith Judd, Steven Testerman, Brian Morrison, Daniel Davidson and Tony Davidson will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Atkin and Yancey Hoyt.  
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho  from noon until 7 p.m. today and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
